Consider your local consignment shop. We are participating in ‘Our Consignors Care’ for Haitian Relief.
We have set up a consignment account for the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, or we will establish one for whatever organization you wish to support. We will even mail the check for you when the item sells, along with other consignor contributions.
However, if you prefer, we will make the check out to the aid organization and you can mail it yourself.
We realize that many people are concerned about conditions in our own country as a result of the ‘great recession’ and are debating whether to get involved with Haitian relief because of our own troubles at home.
If that describes you, pick 2 things. Sell 2 things. Donate the cash from one to Haitian relief efforts. Donate the cash from the second to a local nonprofit involved in helping your own community.
If nothing else, media streaming through our screens of the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti is a reminder. There is a bigger perspective through which we all can view the problems in our own lives. And perhaps, count ourselves most fortunate.
